Dr. Simon Muriu is an executive member of the Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA) where he serves the secretariat and is in charge of membership recruitment. Dr. Muriu holds a PhD in Medical Entomology/Parasitology with a bias in vector biology from the University of Nairobi (2009). His main research interests are in malaria transmission ecology focusing mainly on larval ecology, vector control and behavior. He is currently working on density-dependent processes regulating malaria vectors, mosquito larviciding and vector behavioural responses to insecticide treated nets. Dr. Muriu is currently working at Pwani University as a Lecturer and is affiliated to the vector biology group at Kenya Medical Research Institute- Centre for Geographical Medicine Research, Coast (KEMRI-CGMR, C) as a post-doctoral researcher.
