News of PAMCA warmly received in Geneva

The Roll Back Malaria Vector Control Working Group meets en mass annually. Complementing the normative and policy-setting functions of the WHO Global Malaria Programme (GMP), the Vector Control Working Group (VCWG) is an essential forum where the diverse partners of the vector control community, from ministries of health, academia, industry and the private sector, foundations, bi-lateral, international and non-government organizations can come together, reach a common understanding and develop the necessary networks and activities to overcome these challenges.

At the recent VCWG meeting held in Geneva, the establishment of PAMCA and the launch of the Kenya chapter was announced. The news was met with great enthusiasm and wide support, including by the co-Chairs of the VCWG. An informational poster also generated much interest and numerous questions, which we hope shall translate into expansion of the members base and eventual establishment of additional country or regional chapters.
